As Principal & Managing Director, Marlene continues to embody Brightline’s values of clarity, integrity, and impact — leading high-stakes transformation with presence, influence, and sound judgment. She combines deep expertise in governance, risk frameworks, and change leadership with a collaborative, adaptable approach that ensures lasting results.

My goal is always to strengthen teams and leaders to the point where they no longer need my support. In a sense, I work myself out of a job — leaving behind organizations that are more capable, efficient, and resilient than when I joined them.

As Principal & Managing Director of Brightline Advisory Group, I bring expertise in governance, risk frameworks, and transformational change, supported by a collaborative, adaptable approach rooted in presence, influence, and sound judgment. I measure success not only in results delivered, but in the lasting skills, capacity, and confidence my clients carry forward.

My career began with a strong technical foundation, earning certifications in networks, communications, and software development before moving into program and project leadership. I hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, am a certified Scrum Master, and earned a Generative AI Certification for Project Managers from the Project Management Institute. A lifelong learner, I continue to expand my knowledge through webinars, in-person and online courses, and academic studies. I graduated with a BA from the University of Toronto, and I am currently completing my MBA, maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

Outside of work, I am deeply connected to the outdoors and thrive in challenging sports including alpine skiing, cycling, kayaking, SUP-surfing, and swimming. A decorated athlete in skiing and cycling, I bring the same focus and discipline from sport into my professional life. I am also passionate about music, which fuels creativity and balance. I actively support causes that matter to me, including Protect Our Winters (POW), animal welfare, and wildlife conservancy. I am an advocate for women’s empowerment — supporting initiatives such as the Purple Purse campaign against domestic financial abuse, sponsoring the Queen’s University Female Leadership Conference, and as a member of the Women in Technology and VersaFi (previously Women in Capital Markets) networks.
